Proprietor, Jim Janssen, is a life-long artist
and graphic designer. He owns an advertising
agency which specializes in working with clients
in the home furnishings industry. His creative flair,
sense of design style and an eye for composition, is accentuated by his
instinctual application of Feng Shui in his business, daily life and surroundings. Having acted as consultant on several home decorating projects, Jim's mom has suggested (on numerous occasions) that he pursue a career in interior design.
Jim's family spent many childhood summers vacationing in Door County, Wisconsin. When the shop became available in Fish Creek just blocks away from the cottage they used to rent, Jim jumped at the chance to start a new business venture. Dis'n Dat was named in memory of his grandma, who was an amazing cook. Whenever asked about the ingredient types and portions she would concoct to capture her amazing flavors, she would respond with, "a little a dis, a pinch a dat", always keeping her special recipes a secret. Dis'n Dat showcases a little bit of everything for the home, from secret sources that assures your purchase isn't just the same old thing everyone else has.
Accredited to the ancient Chinese culture,

balance of opposing forces necessary
to create perfect harmony in our lives.
Bringing together these forces of
Heaven and Earth encourages positive
"qi" (chee) energy which promotes a
happier, healthier, even wealthier lifestyle.
